Exhibition Catalogue
From Stonemasons to Log Floaters – Pekka Halonen’s Public Art 4.2.–24.5.2026
The exhibition presents commissioned works and public art painted by Pekka Halonen and a few contemporaries. The title of the exhibition refers to two well-known commissioned works by Pekka Halonen: the mural Stonemasons (1902) in the hallway chamber of Sigrid Jusélius’s mausoleum, and the painting Log Floaters (1925), commissioned for the League of Nations in Geneva.
In the early stages of his career, Pekka Halonen also painted commissioned portraits, book illustrations and participated in church altarpiece competitions. Some of these works and competition entries are also showcased in the exhibition.
