From Stonemasons to Log Floaters
4.2.–24.5.2026
The title of the exhibition derives from two of Pekka Halonen’s well‑known commissioned works: the wall fresco Stonemasons (1902) in the vestibule of the Sigrid Jusélius Mausoleum, and the painting Log Floaters (1925), commissioned by the League of Nations in Geneva. In the early part of his career, Halonen also produced commissioned portraits, illustrated books, and took part in competitions for church altarpieces.
