Away to the Countryside – In the Painter´s Landscapes

Pekka Halonen 160 years

In Halosenniemi, with our new exhibition we celebrate Pekka Halonen’s (1865-1933) 160th birthday. The exhibition showcases Halonen’s paintings from his birthplace Lapinlahti in eastern Finland, painting trips around Finland and Italy, as well as from the shores of Lake Tuusula. Known as a renowned painter of Finnish nature and people, in Tuusula, Halonen concentrated especially on painting close milieus of his artist home Halosenniemi. His paintings convey masterfully the changes of seasons and different weather phenomena.
